OPS – UWM Painting in the Atrium

OPS (Orginization of Painting Students) has some spectacular work up in the UWM Union Atrium.  Humorous, serious, vibrant, and dynamic images inhabit the space for a couple more weeks. Remember to visit this group show of great painters!

 

 

 

UWM Union Art Gallery – Crossing Over opens Tonight!

October 22 – November 12, 2010
Opening Reception: Friday, October 22nd, 5-7pm
UWM Open House:  Friday, October 29th and Saturday, October 30th
Crossing Over showcases work by undergraduate students in UWM’s Peck School of the Arts who received scholarship and fellowship awards in 2010. The high-caliber artwork produced by these emerging artists covers a wide variety of mediums and topics. The show is open during the university’s annual Open House, hosted by the UWM Union.

Black Rock Collective 101 Show Opening Tonight! 5 – 8 pm

Come join us at our first opening of the semester for artwork by the Black Rock Collective and music by Kid Cut Up.

The Black Rock Collective 101

Opening Reception: Friday, September 3, 2010, 5-7 pm

The Black Rock Collective is an international group of artists with varying backgrounds and styles.  The collective is made up of the original artists and designers for the popular website http://www.threadless.com, an online design community.  BRC-101 features work of 20 members, exploring the history of the Black Rock Collective.

Artists include: Jan Avendano (Toronto, Canada), Zeptonn Groningen (Netherlands), Julia Heglund (Madison, WI), Aaron Hogg (New Zealand), Manos Lakoutsis (Greece), Steve Lefcourt (Vermont), MAKI (Netherlands), Lee Norris (OH), Adrienne Pitts (London, England), Blair Sayer (Australia), Alex Solis (Milwaukee, WI), Jared Stumpenhorst (Chicago, IL), Chris Thornley (Manchester, UK), Philip Tseng (San Diego, CA), Andy Walker (New York, NY), Craig Watkins (CA), Joe Van Wetering (Chicago, IL), Justin White (CA), Priscilla Wilson (San Luis Obispo, CA), and Ross Zietz (Chicago. IL).

Atrium Show – STROKE

Atrium – Clark Stamm

Clark Stamm is a Milwaukee based artist whose drawings and paintings are inherently stunning in color, form, and craft. A selection of his works are currently being shown in the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee Union Atrium space. His work will be up until the 30th of october. Here is a sample of the work on display:
